The Commonwealth of News, Views & Ideas
A collective of senior political and business journalists and communication professionals bringing together a common wealth of news, views and ideas, named TheCommonwealthNews. We are led by veteran journalist Mahendra Ved, who has served with the Times of India, Hindustan Times and United News of India.
Through TCN, we aim to bring our discerning readers crisp quality opinions and up to date national and international news in a format easy to read and stimulate. Look out for this space as we will soon bring you more in travel, books and events too. In the meantime, we look forward to hearing from you with your views and suggestions.

Mahendra Ved
Editor
MAHENDRA VED has been a columnist, freelance writer and media educator with multimedia experience of close to five decades. He has been on the staff of The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Daily and the United News of India (UNI). He was guest lecturer at the Times School of Journalism and at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). He is currently President of the Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA), a non-government body working under the Commonwealth umbrella.

Ravijit Chaudhuri

Ravijit is a post-graduate from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and a communications professional with 29 years’ experience in media relations, corporate and product branding, and social media engagement. He has held leadership roles as Head, Corporate Communications at the Bajaj group, Indo Rama Synthetics and the JK group.

Saroj Nagi
Deputy Editor
A Delhi-based journalist for over three decades, Saroj Nagi has worked with several prestigious publications, including The Hindustan Times. Her writings focus on national and international politics, public affairs and issues of governance though she covers other subjects as well. She has contributed articles to edited books, lectured at various institutes and participated in seminars, workshops and TV and radio programmes. She holds an M.Phil degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University and can be reached at nagisaroj@gmail.com

Shantanu Mukharji

Shantanu Mukharji is a retired IPS officer. A Post Graduate in Modern Indian History, he has served in the elite Special Protection Group (SPG) before going several districts in active policing. He also served in various foreign locations ensuring national security concerns. After retirement from GoI, Mukharji was posted in Mauritius as its Prime Minister’s National Security Advisor for nearly five years. He is a highly decorated police officer having received Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
